Honda VFR 1200 tightening internal engine pollution
A few months after its launch, Honda Motor has launched a campaign on safety recall of certain units VFR1200FA models, because of aluminum chips that remain engine.
519 VFR1200FA models (manual classic) are concerned, whose serial numbers range from JH2SC63B * * AK000895 AK000002 to JH2SC63B.
“During the manufacture of the engine VFR1200F, aluminum chips could not be completely removed from the engine block,” said Honda, but “this was due to faulty assembly, which has now been solved”.
“Any chip stayed in the engine may restrict the flow of engine oil, causing an abnormal noise from the engine and in the worst cases, potentially tightening the engine,” the world’s largest automaker.
All owners of affected motorcycles will then receive a mail inviting them to visit their Honda dealer for a “control lubrication system and replacement with a new engine in the presence of aluminum chips.
